My name is Jodi Watkins, and I am a recovering addict.

In my life, I have been addicted to overanalyzing, stubbornness, seeking pleasure from the wrong people, self-sabotage, suppression, drama, and people-pleasing to the point I could no longer function. Everything was falling apart all at once. The addictions left me hurting and feeling alone with no way out.

While I may have looked fine on the outside, I was crumbling on the inside. The problem with beginning a healing journey is we often don't know where to begin. This was the case for me. This is why I finally sought help. 

I am here to tell you that healing is necessary for addiction recovery. Healing lessens misery. We must remove the mask and begin this process to become fulfilled and receive the blessings God wants to give us. I will not tell you healing is easy. I will not tell you learning to love yourself is easy. I will not tell you that forgiveness of self and others is easy. I'd be lying. I will tell you the journey is necessary. I don't want to see you crumble. It would be best if you didn't have to get where I was before I finally submitted it. I want to be that person to lift you when you need it the most.

This life is no sprint. There is no fast track to get to the finish line.

We must embrace each moment.

We must work our faith muscles and practice self-care first in the morning.

Here, you will learn to stay balanced instead of stressed and let go of things we can't change.

Our biggest enemy in life is us. We can hold ourselves back from anything significant.

Once we let go of pride and realize we are worthy, we become more willing to allow ourselves to manifest the things in life we desire. We begin to live more intentionally. It becomes more about those around us instead of woe is me. This life is one that we truly must embrace. I am here to help you learn the steps to embrace it.

Breaking Barriers Now Podcast and Videocast
This podcast began in 2020 as the world embarked on a new way of life. We were told to stay indoors, wear masks, and not be around others. This way of thinking directly correlates to depression. For one, lack of Vitamin D has been directly linked to depression and other mental deficiencies (including putting a damper on our immune systems). The masks kept us away from each other. We were told to distance ourselves. We must consider the ultimate impact these types of directions can have on the population. Kids who went to school to get away from home (like I did growing up) were now stuck in toxic situations. Adults were getting sicker from breathing in their carbon dioxide and not going outside. I decided to begin something that had been on my heart for so long - this podcast. The title came from all the barriers I had (and have) to break in my life. While my story matters, too, I wanted a place where others could come on and share their stories of faith, fire, and fight. I wanted to share how others were breaking barriers in their own lives. Our tests are our testimonies. Strength comes from struggle. Our stories matter and are meant to be heard. They are intended to help others. They are meant to inspire and encourage others to be whatever they desire to be in life. There are no limits except those we place on ourselves. This podcast was a vision given to me to be part of the greater good. Thank you for joining me in this mission, and God bless you!

Natural Immunity
Building our immune systems, especially in this day and age, revolves around thoroughly researched studies and making informed decisions. I became more passionate about immunity in 2007, after my mom passed from a common bacterial infection after contracting HIV (which turned into AIDS in the end). During the time I was taking care of her (she also had Multiple Sclerosis, Hyperthyroidism, and was found to have bipolar disorder), I took many courses to learn how to use more natural approaches to her overall care. The multiple prescriptions were really affecting her physically and psychologically. Therefore, I made it my personal mission to learn what I could. Fast forward, 2017, my daughter was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD). I began to learn how nutrition played a part in this as well. In 2019, I read case studies on a company called Juice Plus. I couldn't believe how simple it could be to boost our immune systems naturally just by adding in more fruits and vegetables. Therefore, I became a distributor for the company. Then, in 2020, we were introduced to a new strand of the SARS virus they called Covid-19. The thing about viruses (as we have learned from the flu) is they mutate however needed to infect the host (person). As we (people) came up with ways to supposedly combat the virus, we actually made it worse. We used cleansers such as Lysol and bleach that have been found to have a negative effect on the lungs. Depleting our lungs is what Covid thrived on even more. We also used more hand sanitizer. We began doing more to lessen our immunity. We focused more on human creations than natural resources. As we continue through this "pandemic," it is super important for us to focus on natural ways to boost our immunity. In this experience, you will read about Juice Plus and read peer-reviewed studies. I will also share my experiences and what I use to combat things in our house. Join me to learn about holistic immunity.
Letting Go of Yesterday
"Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past." - Isaiah 43:18 No matter where our paths have taken us before, it doesn't have to be where we go now. We have the power to shift and create what we desire. We just have to be willing to face ourselves, learn, and grow each day more and more. We have to be willing to put things into practice that may help us become better versions of ourselves. We ultimately have to be willing to let go of blame and shame. We learn from our experiences and we move on. It's as simple as that. Thank you for being here and I hope you will want to share this with everyone you know!
Topic: NUTRITION 101 - K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple and Stress-Free)
Tonight, we went over the following: 1) Food Intake 2) Diary Tracking 3) Drink Water 4) Consistency Have you ever thought about what you were going to eat before you ate it? How difficult would it be to plan your meals out beforehand? How much water do you drink? How much SHOULD you drink? According to research, it takes at least 10 consistent weeks to form a new habit as part of a daily routine. Why is this important to consider during your journey? Because YOU are important!
Being Intentional - Get a Planner!
Remember that not every day will be a great day. You will have days where you have to force yourself to get going. However, take it from me, those are the days where you need to exercise even more. You will feel so much better. Otherwise, you may go through the day blaming yourself and just having a bad day all around.

Kellie has been doing this for a while, but due to some different circumstances her family went through, she had to learn how to be a mobile homeschooling mom. Her information was truly valuable and I loved having this time with her to talk about things that are working for us. Continuing the Journey - Meeting #2
I apologize for the sound for the song. I encourage you to look it up and listen for yourself. It is an amazing song! Lord, you are my refuge, my strength and my help in times of trouble. Even when I face difficult situations, I will not fear because you are with me. You cover me and protect me. You go before me to fight my battles - and you ALWAYS win. Nothing is impossible for you. No matter what I face today, I will place my hope in you. Amen. Please go to the group to be more involved and for open discussion. All discussions are 100% anonymous. Today I pray that if you are in a valley and you're not sure how to get out of it, you look to the Lord. He is our salvation. He is the one we must learn to rely on. He is everything we have. Today and everyday, look to Him to get you through hard times. When we rely on ourselves, we receive anxiety, overwhelm, and depression. With Him, we receive all the blessings He has in store. He doesn't give us the roadmap because He needs to know we will choose to trust Him in the darkness. The more we practice, the better we get - just like anything else in our lives. It's not up to us to "figure it out." It's up to us to trust Him and know He has already won our battles for us. There is a reason I must practice this daily...if I don't, I WILL fall short. So I have to learn how to RECEIVE his words more and more each and every day. It's not going to be perfect. However, receiving His guidance is possible the longer we put forth the effort. In order to receive God's favor, we must do these things: 1) Abandon what we "thought" we knew 2) Accept that we are NOT in control 3) Be Accountable and faithful in our journey 4) Advocate for others who are struggling and who God has placed in our paths 5) Agonize and listen to the hurt of others. Listen to their pain and be their support system when they have none 6) Carry the Armor of God with you everywhere you go 7) Be Available when others need you and remember that God is using you for His glory! 8) Be Aware of your downfalls and weaknesses in order to work on them more. For this, I always say keep GOOD people around you who will help you point these things out. This is what I must do. 9) Have Authority knowing God is our redeemer and our Savior. He must pray without begging. We must know that God is for us and not against us. Thank you for being here. I pray you will come back.

I am currently walking through one, Nevertheless, you don't have to do it alone. Stay in community with others who want to support and encourage you. Together, we are able to accomplish so much more of what God wants for our lives. So don't hold back. You are loved. God bless!
Begin Where You Are
Hi everyone! As I say everyday, it doesn't matter where we begin when we are working towards a new goal. All that matters is that we do, in fact, begin. Depending on where we all are in our journeys, we could need to simply drink more water. Maybe we need to get more intense. Maybe we need to move more. Maybe we need to stop sitting so much. Maybe, just maybe we need to simply just begin. Today, we are doing just that. This is the beginning. We don't wait on perfect circumstances. We don't wait for perfect conditions. We shift as needed and we continue the process of becoming a better version of ourselves (with effort) each and every day. Thank you for being here!
Spiritual Awakening Ministries - Walking in Faith
What is faith? What is walking in faith? Thankfully, the Bible contains a clear definition of faith in Hebrews 11:1: “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” Simply put, the biblical definition of faith is “trusting in something you cannot explicitly prove.” If you're anything like me, learning how to trust something you can't see or prove is far from an easy task. I already had trust issues. I was betrayed so much from early in life it got to the point that's just what I was used to. I began to do something I never truly put effort into - reading the Bible and actually USING the scriptures in my life I was reading. Have you ever tried this? Look, I am not here to tell you what to believe. That is ultimately your choice. What I will tell you is I tried relying on people. The Lord taught me a lot of lessons there that I just simply was NOT listening to. I had to submit. I had to get desperate. Where are you in your faith today? Spiritual Awaking Ministries - Fear
Proverbs 29:25 – “Fear can be a trap, but if you trust in the Lord, you will be safe.” What are you fearful for today? Is there something you want to do but don’t know where to begin? I pray you release this to the Lord. This past week, the Lord has revealed some things to me as well. For years, I never let people get too close. It was a protective mechanism I didn’t even realize I had. I would do it by hurting those who I felt were getting too close. I would do something I felt would push them away. It usually worked. Then I would turn around and blame them. It’s interesting how that works right? Have you ever heard the phrase, “hurt people hurt people?” They do. I was hurt. I couldn’t let go of the internal pain and to this day, I still struggle from time to time. I was afraid of letting people in. I was afraid to allow them to know who I really was – a messed up individual who needed help. On the outside, I put on this mask and went out into the world being whoever I thought everyone else wanted me to be. On the inside, I was dying. To this day, I am still learning more and more that it isn’t meant for us to chase titles so the world will see us. God already sees us. His definition of “success” is far different from the world’s definition of it.
Let Go, Drink Water, and Get Moving
Today, we talked about how to begin the journey. Everyone is on a journey. It may look a little different, but we are all on it. This week's call discussed letting go of regret, walking 4 times per week for 20-30 minutes, and drinking water. This is where we have to begin. We have to let go of our limiting beliefs. We have to be willing to accept compliments. We have to allow ourselves to let go of the past in order to truly appreciate the future. It starts here. How to Start Tracking Your Foods for Beginners
One of the main reasons keeping a food diary is so useful is people aren’t great at remembering or estimating what and how much they’ve eaten. When you aren't keeping track of your food intake, it can be easy to overeat and often takes longer to reach your goals. In fact, research shows keeping a food diary is one of the most effective weight-loss strategies out there. Tracking consistently is proven to help you reach your goals. It helps you be more mindful of what and how much you’re taking in and how it all affects your body. The more you practice this new habit, the better able you are to become disciplined and improve your health long-term. Nutrition has to be sustainable, a lifestyle, and be a priority in your life. This is the only way you will stick to it. My goal is to do whatever I can to help you stick to it! One day at a time. It's a marathon, not a sprint, and over time, it will all get easier. Why God Made Us - Everything He Made Has a Purpose

I have learned that bringing our thoughts to people (especially those involved) isn't always in our best interest. God is always here to listen without judgment. The more I talk to God, the less my emotions get the best of me. It's not perfect, but as we all are, I am a work in progress. This experience talks about a day I had as a parent. Can you relate?

Say Yes to Happiness, Say No to Overwhelm - People Pleasers Beware
Are you a people pleaser? Merriam-Webster defines this as “someone or something that pleases or wants to please people; often: a person who has an emotional need to please others often at the expense of his or her own needs or desires” ( I am habitually a people pleaser. Moreover, I will often sacrifice my and my family's well-being to help or “please” others. I want to be liked. I want to feel like I have a purpose. I am searching for something that I have been missing. If this sounds familiar, I encourage you to take this experience.
